Maiti Nepal’s fight


En Nepal se estima que cada año unas 12.000 mujeres son traficadas. La extrema pobreza del país y el alto índice de analfabetismo femenino hacen que el sueño de conseguir un trabajo con un buen sueldo se convierta, para muchas, en una pesadilla. Sin entender cómo muchas acaban ejerciendo la prostitución en burdeles de India o sirviendo como esclavas en hogares de Países Árabes.  Maiti Nepal es una ONG que lucha desde 1993 por la protección, rescate y rehabilitación de las supervivientes del trafficking .

In Nepal 12,000 women are said to fall victim to trafficking every year. The country’s extreme poverty and the high rate of female illiteracy make of the dream of getting a job with a good salary, a nightmare. Without understanding how, they end up working as prostitutes in brothels in India or as slaves in households in Arab countries.  denied and where they are used as mere pawns in a business that moves a lot of money. Maiti Nepal is a NGO that has been fighting for the protection, rescue and rehabilitation of survivors of trafficking since 1993.
